AMANDA PUCKETT || SEVENTEEN - JUNIOR

Hey! I'm Amanda Puckett and you've probably seen me around school in the halls or with the cheerleaders, for I am head-cheerleader. I take things incredibly seriously and I don't have much time for- well, anything really, but still. When you see me, say hi! :D

Amanda’s eyes snapped open as she heard frantic knocking coming from downstairs. Throwing the pillow, that had been on her face, across the room, she scrambled down the stairs and called out: “I’ll get it! I’ll get it!” To warn her mother that everything was under control and that it was just Sally. Then again, her mother was never the type to stress out about anything. It was Amanda who did most of that in the house. Shaking her head, she took a deep breath, fixed her hair and quickly smoothed out the wrinkles in her clothes. She had to look good even if it was Sally. Then again, they knew each other since they were in tiny overalls in elementary school. Excitedly, Amanda pulled the door open and without hesitation, scrambled forward, throwing her arms around her best friend. “SAAALLLYYYY!” She exclaimed, quickly grabbing the girl’s hand and pulling her upstairs into her room. Amanda didn’t even care to tell her mom who it was. She was just all too excited. “I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve had the most stressful week!” She groaned before falling over onto her bed once again. “AND YOU.” Grabbing her teddy bear, she threw it at Sally’s shoulder and raised an eyebrow. “What’s all this talk about you and McQueen that I’ve been hearing about, huh?”

Sally couldn’t help but laugh as her best friend nearly ripped her arm off, dragging her upstairs. “Hey no problem! What are friends for?” Sally sat on a chair across from the bed and jumped slightly as the teddy bear came in contact with her shoulder.
“Hey, I never said I’d do anything with him! I wanted to make sure I talked to you first.” She sighed and shrugged slightly, “He basically asked me on a date. Like, a real one. With dinner and possibly a movie. I’m not sure what to do. I mean, if I say yes, this could just be some plot to get me in bed with him.” She rolled her eyes, “But if I say no, than I might end up hurting his feelings or…something. So, I come to you,” She pointed at Amanda, “Seeking advice.”

Amanda frowned slightly at the fact that Sally was completely right when she explained the possibility of this whole ‘date’ thing actually turning out to be a ploy to have sex with her, which was more true than false. That was McQueen for yah, but Amanda was the one who suggested it to the poor man. She just didn’t expect him to ask her so soon. Running a hand through her hair, Amanda pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged her legs, thinking about the choice. After a moment she took a deep breath and glanced back up at her friend. “Well… I really think you should give the guy a chance, Sally…” She pursed her lips, a bit confused as to why that sentence had come out of her mouth. For a while now, the two of them had been shooing Brandon off, but something about this was just not natural Brandon. Maybe he had changed. “I mean- If he tries anything, you could always call me and you know I’ll be there in two seconds flat.” She grinned widely and raised a curious eyebrow.

I-uh, I guess I should say hi to everybody. I’m Violet…

Awww… Thanks, Violet! *sighs in relief* That really means a lot to me… I just- I’m always so worried and paranoid about that stuff… I- *sighs and shakes her head* I’m still curious about this invisibility thing… Er- I can see you and hear you just fine…

Oh, well, you must be special or something…cause usually only my sister can see me. It’s complicated.

Special in a good way, right…? Heh, well, it sounds interesting, but I won’t ask about it. Maybe you do have the power of invisibility… I mean- I’ve never seen you around school, but I should! I should know pretty much everyone… And I should really talk to people more. Gosh I’m horrible…

I-uh, I guess I should say hi to everybody. I’m Violet…

That’s awful! D: I’m sure people can hear you… I mean, I could, though sometimes I do miss things since I’m so busy and I don’t always hear what people say about me behind my back cause I know they do- but I mean- I heard youu!

Thanks…but I mean, it’s not their fault. It’s my superpower…of, uh, invisibility. And I would never say anything behind your back.

Invisibility…? And really? You wouldn’t…? I mean- what? You wouldn’t?

Yeah, of course I wouldn’t say anything bad about you. You’ve been so nice to me.

Awww… Thanks, Violet! *sighs in relief* That really means a lot to me… I just- I’m always so worried and paranoid about that stuff… I- *sighs and shakes her head* I’m still curious about this invisibility thing… Er- I can see you and hear you just fine…

I-uh, I guess I should say hi to everybody. I’m Violet…

Er… what? Something wrong? D: Did I say something wrong? Should I know why I shouldn’t be able to hear you? D:

No! You didn’t do anything wrong. It’s me. Most people just…you know…don’t.

Amanda let out a slightly frustrated sigh as she pushed her school books off her desk, wincing lightly as one dropped onto her foot, which she hadn’t intended on doing. She was just so flustered. Her mind was everywhere at one time and the homework she was so frantically working on wasn’t making any sense. She knew she had to look good though. Everyone was counting on her to be the perfect student, the perfect cheerleader- Oh cheerleading! She had even forgotten about that. Shaking her head, Amanda bit her lip and rubbed her foot before getting up and falling backward onto her bed. The only good side to the day was the fact that Sally was coming over. Maybe she could calm Amanda’s tense nerves.

Sally grinned as she began throwing clothes into her bag. She loved going over to Amanda’s house and really loved cheering her up about be so stressed. ‘Wait a second’ she thought, ‘My mother is never going to let me leave. Not after finding out about my tattoo…’. She thought for a second more and, once her bag was zipped, she opened her door and yelled “Mom! I’m going to bed alright!?”
After she got an “Alright!” yelled back, she shut her door, turned off her light and walked slowly towards her window. Quiet as she could, she slowly opened her window and climbed down the water pipe with her bag slung over her shoulder.
After walking for about ten minutes she reached Amanda’s house and her grin got even bigger. She ran as fast as she could to the door and began knocking.

Amanda’s eyes snapped open as she heard frantic knocking coming from downstairs.
